FAQs

Answers to Common Questions

What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy is a field focused on preventive care and rehabilitation. Licensed physical therapists use exercises, stretches, hands-on techniques, and equipment to help individuals relieve pain, recover from injuries or surgeries, and improve their physical capabilities.

What does a Physical Therapist do?

Great question! A physical therapist, often called a PT, is a licensed healthcare professional who assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients to help them manage pain, recover from injuries or surgeries, and address any physical limitations. After an initial evaluation, the PT creates a tailored treatment plan, which may include exercises, stretching, manual therapy, and specialized equipment. Every treatment plan is unique, as it is customized to the individual's needs and goals.

Can Physical Therapy be done at home?

Yes, definitely! Physical therapy can be provided in the comfort of your home through outpatient PT services and Medicare Part B coverage. We also offer virtual TelePT sessions, allowing you to receive treatment online from our qualified professionals.

What happens during a Physical Therapy session?

It varies. During your first visit, the physical therapist will discuss your symptoms and perform an assessment to identify the appropriate treatment plan for you. Since every plan is individualized, the therapist will ensure you know what to expect and guide you through the process.

How do I obtain a new wheelchair or walker?
Getting a wheelchair or medical equipment typically requires a comprehensive assessment by a physical therapist and a prescription from your doctor. We work with local vendors to ensure you receive equipment that meets your needs and is fitted properly.
Do I need a prescription to begin Physical or Occupational Therapy?
We recommend starting our services with a prescription or referral from your doctor. After your evaluation, we’ll collaborate with your physician to establish a personalized treatment plan. This approach ensures seamless communication and comprehensive care.
How long do I need to attend Physical Therapy?

The length of your therapy depends on your symptoms, progress, and personal goals. Your PT will outline a personalized treatment plan after the initial evaluation. The duration and frequency of sessions may be adjusted based on your improvement. Consistency and effort during therapy can shorten the number of sessions needed.

Why is Physical Therapy importance and benefits?

We understand why this question comes up—physical therapy is often associated with recovery post-injury or surgery. However, it serves both preventive and rehabilitative purposes. Here are some reasons to consider physical therapy:It helps alleviate and manage pain.It can reduce the need for surgery. It improves flexibility and mobility. It aids in recovering from injuries, strokes, and managing chronic conditions like heart disease, lung disease, arthritis, and more.

Do you accept insurance?

We are an in-network provider for Medicare B, making it easier for Medicare beneficiaries to access our services. For other insurance plans, we typically operate out-of-network, but we’re here to help you navigate the insurance process. If you have out-of-network coverage, we can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance. We recommend contacting your insurer directly for detailed coverage information.

Do you offer Caregiver Training?

Yes, we do! Simply schedule a free consultation, and we’ll discuss your needs and how we can assist.

Where will I receive Treatment?
A therapist will visit you at your home, ensuring comfort and convenience. For Medicare B patients, there are no homebound requirements.
Can I receive additional Physical Therapy at home while on Home Health Therapy?
At Rekindle Rehab, we strive to help you reach your rehabilitation goals efficiently. However, we cannot bill insurance for our services while you are under a Home Health Agency's care. If you wish to receive additional therapy during that period, it would be a self-pay option until you are discharged from the agency’s care.
